Bed sizes are standardised in Australia which makes buying sheets much easier than in other places like Europe.

Generally speaking people tend to use a Queen size quilt cover on a queen size mattress (which has a width of 150cm) likewise king size quilt cover on a king size mattress (which has a width of 180cm).

A European look which is becoming increasely popular in Australia is to have the quilt cover hang a little further over the edges of the mattress. If you like this look then we recommend going up a size for your duvet insert and quilt cover. For example, if you have a queen size mattress then you would select a king size quilt cover.

Be careful when buying bed linen abroad as mattress sizing across countries can be very different and in many occasions have the same names. We recommend double checking the actual dimensions instead of relying on the name to ensure the correct size bed linen is purchased.
