Luxury Cotton Bath Towels Australia
FAQs
The number one tip we can offer in order to keep your bath towels soft and absorbent is "do not use fabric softener"! Although this may seem counterintuitive with time fabric softener builds up in your towels making them hard and less absorbent.
Line drying is what we recommend for the longevity of your luxury cotton bath towels as well as for the environment however if you want that extra fluffy towel once in a while then a low heat machine dry will give you that feel.
The quality of a towel is reflected in its material, construction and feel. In many instances this directly relates to where the products are made and the practices and standards of that particular country.
Higher quality towels are typically crafted from long-staple cotton, such as Egyptian or Pima Cotton renowned for their softness, durability and absorbency. The terry cloth should be dense with looped pile for optimal absorbency and comfort.
Measured in GSM (grams per square meter) a towels weight is also important. The higher the GSM the thicker more absorbent the towel. More obviously pay extra attention to the craftsmanship of the towel (which should be meticulous) and the feel and absorbency once at home.
When purchasing online it's often hard to qualify the soften and feel of the product irrespective of the quality of the photos available. At DEIA Living we´ve searched for manufactures in Portugal who pride themselves on the quality of their towels. We want our customers to rest easy when purchasing from us knowing their towels will be absorbent and soft from day one and will last for years into the future.
The main and most obvious benefit of a quality cotton towel is it´s absorbency and luxurious feel even with hard use. What is lesser known is that terry cotton towels are made to be extremely breathable which in turn prevents the growth of bacteria making them a hygienic choice for bathrooms. Likewise cotton is a hypoallergenic material, therefore suitable for individuals with sensitive skin.
In reality the answer is personal preference. Assuming both types of towels are of equal quality, both fibres are extremely absorbent, hypoallergenic, durable and soft. Although Egyptian cotton has a longer association with "luxury towels", bamboo towels generally have more ecological and sustainable manufacturing processes making them the preferred choice for many. In saying this however bamboo towels generally have a higher price tag than Egyptian cotton towels so if budget is a factor in your decision making process your dollar will stretch further with Egyptian cotton towels.
Yes they are, our whole range of luxury towels are made from highly absorbent and durable 600GSM (grams per square metre) double twisted yarn Egyptian cotton. This GSM means more cotton fibre in each metre of terry towelling resulting in a denser cotton towel therefore increasing absorbency. In saying this the higher GSM doesn't make our towels feel rough or hard or too heavy due to the long fibered Egyptian cotton we use. This combination cotton density with quality long fibres makes for the highly absorbent long lasting towel.
