FAQs

Both sateen and percale cotton bed sheets are equally hypoallergenic. The weave of the fabric (ie being percale or sateen) doesn't inherently affect its hypoallergenic properties.

Our number one recommendation if looking for hypoallergenic cotton bedding is avoid any cotton and synthetic blends. Stick to 100% Egyptian cotton bed linen or long fibre cotton bedding.

Yes you certainly can. If you would like to check the quality of our material we are more than happy to send you a pack of swatches containing the material from each of our cotton bed sheet collections. Please complete our sample request form here.

This is a common question and one that with a lot of misleading information available on the web. We do not believe you have to spend a fortune for quality 1000 thread count percale sheets, in fact 300 thread count percale bed linen in many cases will feel much softer and silkier than lower quality higher thread count percales.

A general rule of thumb is the higher the thread count the thicker the material will be. To achieve a finer material of a higher thread count the fibre of the cotton needs to be extremely long and fine. As this cotton is more desired for all bedding, bed linen made from this type of cotton will always have a higher price tag.

A true percale has a distinct sound and feel due to the way the fabric is weaves. Crisp is how we describe it, which also makes percale bed linen nice and fresh for the summer months or for those people who sleep hot.

In saying this however "crunchy and noisy" doens´t mean hard- a quality percale is still an extremely soft bed linen choice.
